Aleena: At 17 Months

Aleena has been growing so big and becoming a little toddler. I really haven't taken the time to blog about her lately. I took her to her "15/18 month" check up, but she was only 17 months. She is 31 1/4 inches tall (she hated getting measured for this). She weighs 23 lbs. I thought it would've been more, and she is just doing great! Aleena doesn't talk too much but is learning new words each day and I love hearing them. Her vocabulary so far:
1. Mama
2. Dada
3. Papa (Grandpa)
4. Pop-pop (referring to the song "Popcorn Popping")
5. Baby
6. Ba (for ball)

My little ham loves the camera.

My big girl.

Aleena can make many animal sounds when she sees a picture in her books. She can make "Ssssss" for Snake and a cute and funny elephant noise.

She still has a love for books and will read them (look at them) by herself for quite awhile. Right now her favorite books are: "The Belly Book", "Rainbow of Food", "My Very First Farm Book" and "My Very First Colors Book". She loves reading in the car. Good thing she doesn't get car sick. She also loves going to the library and taking all the books off the shelf and try to put all of them in our library bag.

I was surprised that the past few weeks she has actually taken to a particular toy, her "baby". It wasn't Heedley or Coco, but I was pleased that it was my very first Cabbage Patch doll, Denise, when I was a little girl. Sometimes she won't go anywhere without her. It's so funny to see Aleena burping, and feeding her, or giving her a sippy cup and then rocking her. Today she started giving her kisses. She's a good little "mama".

Giving Denise kisses.

Aleena surprises me everyday and it's so much fun to watch and hear her do the funniest things. I feel blessed to have her in my life.

She is so cute and it sounds like she has a fun personality. She looks like she's getting ready to be a great big sister!
