Cinco de Mayo

We've started a tradition with our neighbors to have a Cinco de Mayo party each year. We had one last year and it was a lot of fun. More neighbors joined us in celebrating, which was a great way to get to know them. This year we ordered tamales from a wonderful place called, "El Gallo Giro". They were delicious. Everyone pitched in and brought other Mexican fixings. Again, the pinata was the highlight this year. Especially since Aleena loved it so much, and everyone had fun laughing at each other trying to hit it while being blindfolded. Oh yeah, Matt added extra spark to the party when he lit fireworks, and threw them down as I was trying to hit the pinata.

It was a choice between Hello Kitty, Spongebob and Hannah Montana. I liked the 80's.

My sister joined in the festivities, and brought the Sangria. Yum!

Some fun people came with their cute baby.

Aleena trying to destroy the pinata with her bare hands.

Aleena was glued to baby Alexa. She was a good little helper.

Her new best friend.
Can't wait for next year!
