We ate wonderful meals: Breakfast: Smoked-salmon-eggs-Benedict, Dinner: Beef tenderloin, Rosarito style shrimp cocktails, and a mushroom quiche. Very gourmet. My mom does an excellent job. Serene made a yummy drink with pineapple and ice cream. Matt and Lillie made the shrimp cocktails. Very yummy.
We watched movies: The Christmas Story (I had never seen it, and then the dish went out so I still have to finish it. So far I love it!), National Treasure II (Entertaining. Got to see some old friends while standing in line. That was nice.)
We sang Christmas songs: Matt played the piano so we could follow along.
We listened to our favorite Christmas CD: "The Carpenter's Christmas Portrait". Okay, when I say "our" I guess it only includes my mom, my sisters and myself. It's not Christmas without that CD. The boys on the other hand can live without it.
We read Christmas stories from our advent books: "The Missing Baby Jesus", and scriptures.
We wrapped presents: Mom did a great job of attacking the presents and adding beautiful bows to them. I still had a few to wrap. Luckily Lillie helped. I was getting tired of wrapping.
We unwrapped our presents: I love seeing the looks of surprise and happiness from the receivers. Mom of course takes the cake every year for crying tears of joy for her gifts. I loved all of my gifts. A lot of thought went into them, and they're all very useful.
We spoke to family across the country: My sister, Trina, my niece Skye, my brother David. Wish we could all be together for Christmas someday.
It was a wonderful few days. This Christmas will not be as quiet with a new baby around. She will add some excitement. It will be exciting to see when our little girl grows to love Christmas. Hopefully Matt and I will be able to teach her the true meaning, and steer her away from the heavily commercialized side of Christmas.
Matt Made Cheesebread (a Mayry family recipe) and delivered it to friends. Luckily he saved some for us. It is delicious!!
