Birthday Celebration #2

We celebrated Aleena's first birthday at our house with some friends/neighbors. I made some enchiladas and Matt made the beans. Our friend Fernando made the best rice. I also made the cake. I added fresh flowers from my garden, but the bugs started crawling out of them and we had to take them off. Eew.

I've been singing several birthday songs to her for the past two months so she could get used to it. She clapped when we sang to her, and loved all the attention.


The Mayry tradition of hanging up pictures of the birthday person on the wall. I also added the streamers to make it more festive.

Having her cake and eating it too. She ate the whole slice of cake, but didn't get very messy like I thought she would. She's a dainty eater when she wants to be.
