Mini Vacation

Last week Aleena and I had a mini vacation. Guess where we went? Nope, nowhere tropical or exotic. We went to the IE which stands for "Incredibly Exciting". Ha ha. It actually stands for Inland Empire where my hometown is. Why would I go there you may ask? We kept my mom company while my dad visited my sister and niece in New York. It's super hot there. I am definitely not used to it anymore, and was overjoyed my parents had a working AC.

Aleena and I got to visit most of my friends (sorry if I didn't get to see ALL of you. Next time!)

We had lunch with my friend Antoinette, "Toni", and Aleena was so good at the restaurant. She sat patiently while Toni and I caught up on the last two years since we've seen each other. She's expecting a girl in December and I'm thrilled for her. She'll be a great mommy.

Then we visited my friend Lauren who just had a baby boy, Noah, less than a month ago. He is super tiny and cute. Lauren is also a great mom and amazes me how well she's handling a newborn. She's so good. I was definitely more frazzled that first month.

Then we visited my bestest friend, Jen, and her little girl Kameryn and went swimming in their pool. Aleena loved it! She was so cute just relaxing in the water. She even fell asleep and I had to take her out and put her down for her nap.

Matt came out for two days. One of the days he was interviewing out in the area. We decided not to take the job offer, as much as we would like to own a home, we don't think it's a good time for us to leave the current job. Matt and I went on our first "alone" date. I got to choose our activity and we went to Color Me Mine to paint ceramics. He then took me to eat yummy frozen yogurt. We had a great time talking and relaxing without the little girl. We really needed that. Thanks mom for watching Aleena! We'll definitely go on more dates now that she takes the bottle.

To end the week, Matt came back out and we met up with some dear friends that Matt knew from college. Sean and Nicole just had a baby boy, Adam, a month ago, and it was great catching up with them at lunch.

After lunch Matt took us to the San Bernardino County Museum. He's always wanted to go there (he didn't grow up in the IE). So we went, Aleena, Matt, Serene (sister) and I. It was about to close, so we only got to take a quick peek, and then Matt showed Aleena around outside.

It was a very nice and relaxing vacation to spend time with my mom and reunite with good friends

Does the Museum still have that really OLD train? The last time I was there was like 10 years ago. Outside there were a TON of wasps!

Aleena is getting so big already!

Looks like fun! How is Jen doing? I remember the days when she was mine and Shelley's apartment manager. It was such a small world!

He'd always wanted to go to the museum? You mean, people who live outside of San Berdoo have even heard of it? Wow, that's interesting =).

It must be so nice to be so close to your fam! I'm glad you have a babysitter when you really need one. Alone time is definately important. Mini vacations are the best!

I haven't been to the SB Museum in years! How fun! We are no longer in Irvine...we're in Corona, but still not far away. Let's get together!
